英國央行（BOE）總裁卡尼受訪表示，即使通膨率如預期般下滑，BOE仍會升息，但確切時間點未定，而且將採漸進式升息。

卡尼在10日出刊的伯明罕郵報專訪中重申，未來數月通膨率預料仍維持在1%以下，之後才會加速成長。

他說：「為了使經濟恢復平衡、讓通膨率在未來兩年內重回2%，我們勢必要升息，我們還沒決定升息的確切時機，但我要強調的是，升息過程將循序漸進，升息幅度也比較小。」

由於歐元區成長減緩，加上油價重挫減輕近期物價壓力，路透訪調的經濟學家預期，BOE可能要到明年第3季才會升息。
