教育部長蔣偉寧請辭下台，由在教育部已擔任行政工作長達30年的次長陳德華接任，對於教育團體希望陳次能夠「扶正」，避免讓十二年國教引來更多紛爭，陳德華上午表示，新任教育部長人選行政院很快就會做出決定，自己不適合擔任。

他也指出，今年是十二年國教首屆實施，招生方式因為各界有許多不同意見，下周將在南投舉行的教育局處長會議，會針對明年十二年國教招生方式做重點討論。至於二免取消志願序等調整，地方首長已經和教育部達成共識，認為貿然更改恐引發更大爭議，但會在選填志願時公布更細緻的資訊供學生參考。

陳德華說，自己在教育部服務長達30多年，跟過十幾位部長，事實上教育部長通常任期並不長，更換已經是常態。對於蔣偉寧選擇辭職以免個人風波干擾政務，陳德華認為，對於教育部而言是一件「很好的決定」。
