美國務院莎琪（Jen Psaki）5日在例行記者會回應記者提問時表示，美國國務院事先並不知情，這個儀式與美國政策不一致，美國仍完全堅持基於三個聯合公報和一個中國政策，沒有美國政府人員以任何方式參加這個活動。

中國外交部發言人華春瑩5日就雙橡園升旗表態稱，「我們堅決反對台灣當局駐美機構舉行所謂『升旗』儀式，並已向美方提出嚴正交涉。」
