救「石虎」　千人路過環保署

環保署環評大會昨審查「台十三線三義外環道新闢工程環差報告」，環團質疑這將使瀕臨絕種的保育動物石虎因棲地破壞而滅絕，昨號召千人「路過」環署；支持開發案的苗栗縣三義鄉長徐文達也號召兩百多人北上抗衡，雙方互槓。大會決議全案退回專案小組，要求開發單位考量工程必要性及更佳保育措施，環團揚言下次動員萬人護石虎。

為解決三義木雕街塞車問題並提升台十三線道路效益，公路總局規劃興建台十三線三義外環道，從銅鑼連接三義交流道，全長八點二八公里，造價五十二億元。二○○三年已通過環評但經費不足，二○○九年才取得交通部許可開發，因三年未開發且變更為八點五公里，重提環差報告送環署審查。（綜合報導）
