德州出現第一個在美國發病的伊波拉病人，而達拉斯衛生官員正密切觀察這個男子9月24日出現症狀，並開始帶有傳染性後，曾與他接觸的至少五個學童。

上周末期間，這個患者已發病後，有五個孩子曾在一處住所與他接觸，並在29日照常上學。這些孩子分別就讀四所學校，包括一所高中、一所初中和兩所小學。

有關當局表示這些學校並未關閉，不過，為防萬一，學校將徹底消毒。聯邦疾病防治中心說，與患者有直接接觸的五個孩子，現已留在家裡接受觀察。
