台中市長胡志強今下午出席文化局活動時，被問到行政院副秘書長蕭家淇宣布投入台中中西東南區立委補選一事，胡志強先驚訝表示不知此消息，接下來說：「如果消息屬實，我鼓勵他且支持他。」

胡志強表示，蕭家淇曾徵詢他意見，他說尊重蕭家淇決定；雖然現在是艱難時刻，但若蕭家淇要選，還是鼓勵他支持他。
