金塊前鋒「半獸人」Kenneth Faried在夏天參加美國夢幻隊，扮演奪冠的重要角色，面對即將開打的NBA賽季，他說：「我一直相信我自己，能夠成為NBA的超級球星。」

Faried用優異體能條件彌補身高不足，卓越的活動能力反而在大前鋒位置取得優勢，也獲得美國隊總教練Mike Krzyzewski重用。

上個賽季場均13.7分8.6籃板，有著「半獸人」稱號的Faried說：「我一直相信我自己，能夠成為NBA球星，甚至是超級球星。如果連我自己都不敢想，那我就跟普通人沒兩樣。」

總教練Brian Shaw也希望Faried盡情展現，「我給Faried自由發揮的空間，讓他在運動戰展現能量，我已經可以想像會是什麼情況。」

金塊有權利在11月之前提出延長合約，雙方若未達成續約，Faried明年夏天就會變成受限自由球員，半獸人說：「我很樂意永久待在丹佛，但事情如果沒有這樣發展，我也只能向前走。」
